Before the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU became a reality, Beverly W. Reynolds had a vision. As a local gallery owner/director, she knew how much Richmond could benefit from a contemporary art center and thus rallied her friends, colleagues and associates leading up to the founding of the ICA. She passed away in 2014 shortly after VCU broke ground on the Markel Center, home of the ICA. This is her story as shared by her family and friends.
